About the Minor


The Minor in Business and Design integrates Internet-based information and knowledge systems with human-centered graphic, new media, and product design.

This minor prepares students for careers or graduate programs in information technologies, business or creative industries (such as social media, location-based media, and business start-ups), and non-profit organizations or government agencies with a special need for innovation and cross-disciplinary capabilities.

The minor in Business and Design consists of the successful completion of 19 semester hours, including FA 102A – Introduction to New Media Design (3 s.h.) and IT 14 – Introduction to Computer Concepts and Software Tools (4 s.h.). The remaining 12 s.h. must consist of 6 s.h. in fine arts design courses and 6 s.h. of information technology and quantitative methods courses selected from the list of electives below. A completed minor in business and design will be listed on the student’s transcript.
