Engineering Management, MS

The Master of Science in Engineering Management program is designed to provide practicing engineers and specialists in related fields with the requisite skills to advance to management positions and assess and manage new and existing technologies specific to a company’s needs.  Successful students earn a Master of Science degree through the completion of 30 credits of course work culminating in a capstone management project.

Admission Requirements


Applicants for admission should hold a baccalaureate degree in Engineering or a related field in science from an accredited institution.  They must also have an average grade of B or better in their undergraduate work or a satisfactory score on the Graduate Record Examination.  The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required of applicants who completed their bachelor’s degree in a country where English is not the official and spoken language.  TOEFL scores are valid for two years from the test date.  Criteria which are evaluated in the admissions process include undergraduate and/or previous graduate work and a professional resume and/or a summary of accomplishments.  Prospective students will be evaluated by the engineering graduate admissions committee.

This program normally requires the completion of 30 credits.  At least 24 hours in graduate engineering and business courses must be completed while in residence at Hofstra with a cumulative 3.0 average and a minimum grade of C or better in each course.  Candidates are expected to complete their studies within four years
