The BA major in mathematics consists of a minimum of 41 semester hours in mathematics and 5 semester hours in physics.
An additional 15 semester hours of mathematics numbered above 100 (excluding MATH 185 and 198B) with at least two courses chosen from the following:
Students who are also completing the B.A. in Mathematics Education are only required to take one of the courses listed above but must still complete the full 15 semester hours of electives.
Note that PHYS 011A and PHYS 011B fulfill the distribution requirement in the category of Natural Sciences. Students are also strongly encouraged to take at least one course in computer science at or above the level of CSC 015.
