JRNL 216 - Advanced Contemporary Journalism Semester Hours: 3 Periodically
This course will instruct students to report on multiple platforms and have their work appear on the Long Island Advocate, a student-run campus news website. Students will use their digital, broadcast, video, and photo skills to report on community stories and turn in news packages placed on the Advocate digital and social pages. In this course, video editing and shooting are equally as important as telling stories via social media. Outside community research and reporting time is required.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: JRNL 211 . Journalism students may not take this course on a Pass/Fail basis. Students not matriculating in the MA in Journalism program may take the course as a Pass/Fail elective. There is a lab fee for this course.
