DPT 531 - Differential Diagnosis in Physical Therapy


Semester Hours: 2
This course reviews the clinical presentations of the more common disorders of the organ systems and discusses how they might mimic dysfunction amenable to physical therapy. This course covers screening, systems review, differential interviewing strategies, risk factors, clinical manifestations, physical therapy diagnosis, and specific flag recognition for conditions warranting referral. Differential diagnoses of complex case scenarios will be discussed. 

Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes:
Prerequisites for this course include all preceding coursework in the curriculum. Any exceptions require approval from the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program Director.  May not be taken on a Pass/Fail basis.
