RTVF 080 - Experimental Film and Video ProductionSemester Hours: 3 Fall, Spring
In this course, you will explore the work of boundary-pushing experimental filmmakers from early avant-garde movements to contemporary artists. Collectively, we execute various experimental techniques and experiment with tactile approaches such as direct-on-film animation and stop-motion animation, as well as digital techniques using archival footage, abstract imagery, and visual distortion. The focus will be on developing your unique artistic exploration, culminating in producing an individual film that combines some of the experimental techniques reviewed over the semester.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: RTVF 026 or 047 . Admission to class by permission of the department. Lab fees are additional.
