JRNL 042 - Photojournalism for SportsSemester Hours: 3 Photography is a major part of the journalistic landscape. The ability to tell a story through images is an important tool. From action shots to portraits, students will learn how to find and capture interesting photographs in all elements of sports. Students will also learn how to use photography equipment, including cameras, lights, and photo editing software. The latest photography tools will also be used in this class, including GoPro and drones. Students will also discuss ethical issues related to photography. Outside assignments and photography time is required. Photojournalism student projects may be published in Long Island Advocate and other Hofstra student media outlets.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: JRNL 010 or PR 106 or permission of the department. May not be taken on a Pass/D+/D/Fail basis. No liberal arts credit.
