MPH 231 - Integrative Learning Experience: Proposal Development Semester Hours: 1 All MPH students are required to complete an Integrative Learning Experience (ILE). There are several ILE options for MPH students (described below). Each option provides students with the opportunity to develop expertise in a specific topic area, demonstrate research methods skills, and make a contribution to the field of public health. Students work with a minimum of two faculty members on their ILE project: an ILE Faculty Advisor – drawn primarily from the MPH faculty, and an ILE Preceptor – drawn primarily from the public health field and typically someone who is an expert in the selected ILE topic area. The ILE is completed at the end of the program so that students can address a public health question or issue of interest by drawing on and building upon their academic experience. By the completion of this course, students will have completed a proposal for their ILE project.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: Students that have completed at least 33 s.h. (including MPH 200 , 202 , 203 , 204 , 205 , 206 , 221 , and 222 ) are eligible to register for this course. This course may be taken in the same semester as MPH 232.
