DPT 518 - Clinical Diagnostic Imaging for Physical Therapists


Semester Hours: 2
This course covers the interpretation of radiological and imaging diagnostic tests with an emphasis on imaging techniques used in the diagnosis of musculoskeletal, neurological and cardiovascular/pulmonary systems dysfunctions. The course presents the basic principles, purpose and process of imaging analysis applied to patient/client management in physical therapy practice. This course emphasizes the systematic approach for image viewing, review, and interpretation as well as the interpretation of various imaging diagnostic reports. Basic interpretation methods of assessing imaging and application of findings to physical therapy practice are included.

Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes:
Prerequisites for this course include all preceding coursework in the curriculum. Any exceptions require approval from the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program Director.  May not be taken on a Pass/Fail basis.
