DPT 530 - Clinical Decision-Making


Semester Hours: 3
This course is designed to advance the learning experience and clinical reasoning skills and to enhance clinical decision-making skills. The course includes learning activities to allow the students to practice clinical decision-making skills. This course provides an opportunity to integrate much of the curricular content to date using realistic clinical case scenarios. Clinical cases are used to apply decision-making skills within the Patient Management Model including examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, and development of intervention strategies for complex patient conditions across the lifespan. Clinical case studies and case scenarios are used to integrate clinical reasoning and clinical decision-making skills including rational and evidence for decision-making for the assigned cases.

Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes:
Prerequisites for this course include all preceding coursework in the curriculum. Any exceptions require approval from the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program Director.  May not be taken on a Pass/Fail basis.
