GEOL 9 - Introduction to Earth Resources January
Analysis of the distribution, quality and quantity of U.S. mineral,
energy and water resources (iron, aluminum, bauxite, coal, uranium,
etc.). The interplay of the social, environmental, economic and
political factors which affect the utilization of these resources. A
discussion of the economic and environmental considerations that
influence the exploitation, conservation or recycling of these
resources and the selection of alternate energy sources. (3 hours
lecture.)
