CT 282S - Hands-on Approaches to Teaching Science in Middle and Secondary Schools Specific workshops developed for joint participation of in-service
teachers in elementary and secondary education. As individual subjects
are selected, each is assigned a letter (A-Z) and added to the course
number. Any course may be taken a number of times so long as there is a
different letter designation each time it is taken.
This course focuses on the basic content, principles and guidelines for
teaching using hands-on approaches middle school science and involves
the applications of technology. Teachers of high school science will
find this course of great benefit as well because it includes
elementary principles of physics and chemistry and in-depth exploration
of instructional approaches in life sciences and earth science,
applications of mathematical concepts and skills in the study of
science; applications of scientific learning and achievement in the
sciences; as well as critical approaches to the benefits and hazards of
technology. Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: Course is cross-listed with
