GEOL 133F - Field Trips in Petrology


This two-day course, taken in conjunction with GEOL 133, is a field-based study of igneous and metamorphic rocks of the Appalachian orogenic belt. The first trip is to examine igneous rocks, the second trip is to examine metamorphic rocks. A mapbased report, together with notes and descriptions of field observations and measurements, is required. (Two full days in the field.)
