ITLT 40 - (LT) Nature, Gender, and Sin in Pre-Modern Italy


Once a year
Transformations in the concepts of sin, love, and nature and their implications for the representation of gender in the period from 1250 to 1600. Students study such authors as Vittoria Colonna, Gaspara Stampa, Jacopone da Todi, the stilnovisti, Dante, Petrarch, Boccaccio, Castiglione, Machiavelli, Ariosto, and Tasso.

(Formerly LIT 67, Italian Literature of Medieval and Renaissance Periods.)
