JRNL 11 - News Writing and Reporting Fall, Spring
Defining news and its importance in a democratic society; structure of news-gathering
process; the elements of news; introduction to basic news reporting and writing
for print and broadcast; use of the Internet as a reporting and research tool;
accuracy and fairness as journalistic imperatives. Outside community research
and reporting time is required.
Prerequisites & Notes ENGL 1 and 2, or permission of the instructor. Lab fees additional.
