ELED 127 - Integrated Teaching of Reading, Writing, and Children’s Literature


Fall, Spring
Selection, design and organization of rationales, strategies, and materials for the integrated teaching of reading, writing, and children’s literature appropriate for diverse cultural groups and individual learning styles and special learning needs are studied. Students develop a repertoire of egalitarian materials and methods for use with bilingual as well as monolingual English speakers. Students participate in the reflective study of their teaching under close clinical supervision in primary grades. Students must provide transportation to and from assigned placements.

Prerequisites & Notes
Admission to the ELED program; ELED 125 and satisfactory completion of departmental writing examination. Corequisite: ELED 126 and the corresponding laboratory section of ELED 126. Credit given for this course or 127A, not both.
