MPHY 240 - Radiation Therapy Physics I Semester Hours: 3 Spring
Introduction to the basic physics of radiation oncology, including the following: measurement of ionizing radiation, quality of X-ray beams, measurement of absorbed doses, dose distributions, special techniques, machine quality assurance, acceptance testing and commissioning, brachytherapy, treatment planning, and national protocols for dosimetry.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: MPHY 214 . Open only to students enrolled in the M.S. program in medical physics or permission of program director. May not be taken on a Pass/Fail basis. (Formerly Radiation Oncology Physics I.)
