Summer
Students in this summer clinical practicum provide diagnostic and treatment services to children and adults with a variety of communicative disorders. The accompanying seminar focuses on professional issues in Speech-Language Pathology including ethics, HIPAA/risk management and health care legislation, regulation/ reimbursement, and multiculturalism. Topics related to careers and the workforce include professional competencies through education, certification, licensure and specialty recognition, leadership and lifelong advocacy in the field, and the future of the field.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: SPCH 228 with a grade of B or better is a prerequisite.
