Health Studies and Kinesiology Programs 

Health Studies and Kinesiology Courses 


The Department of Health Studies and Kinesiology offers the following programs:

  1. Undergraduate major programs leading to the following:
    1. B.S. Athletic Training  — preparation for Board of Certification, Inc. certification exam candidate and credential as an entry-level athletic trainer.
    2. B.S. Exercise Science  — exercise testing, prescription and leadership.
    3. B.S. Health Education  — Certification for teaching of health education.
    4. B.S.Ed. Certification for teaching of physical education .
  2. Minor programs in driver-traffic safety education , exercise science , and physical education 
  3. Skills courses—a variety of physical education skills courses for undergraduate degree credit (up to 8 semester hours), open to all students. (See skills courses.)
  4. Five-year dual degree program: Physical Education and Health (B.S.) and Health and Physical Education (M.S.), Dual-degree Program   – certification to teach k-12 physical education and health education.
