Hofstra is a selective institution seeking to enroll those students who demonstrate the academic ability, intellectual curiosity, and motivation to succeed and contribute to the campus community. Hofstra enrolled almost 2,400 new students of whom 1,716 are first-time undergrads in 2006-2007.

Women’s sports include basketball, cross-country, field hockey, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball. The football program competes at the NCAA Division I-AA level in the Atlantic 10 Football Conference. All other sports compete at the NCAA Division I level in the Colonial Athletic Association. |
