REHB 230 - Philosophy and Principles of Rehabilitation Counseling Semester Hours: 3 Fall
This course reviews the historical background and philosophical underpinnings of the profession of rehabilitation counseling. Students will learn about the rehabilitation counseling scope of practice, foundational principles, and the varied practice settings in the public, non-profit community-based, clinical, independent living, and private for-profit sectors. The interdisciplinary nature of rehabilitation counseling will be highlighted. Legislation, benefits programs, professionalization, advocacy, and client populations will be a focus.
