PSY 247 - Practicum Supervision Course II Continued

Semester Hours: 1

Spring

246  This is the second of two courses in the second level practicum supervision sequence.  In this course students will build upon the concepts introduced in PSY 244, 245, and 246, and will increase their knowledge of various evidence-based interventions within the school setting.  Students will discuss normative development and juxtapose neurotypical development with disorders of psychopathology in the context of cases and issues.   Students will continue to focus on application of evidence-based interventions for children and adolescents who struggle with such disorders as anxiety, depression, impulse control, anger management, and frustration tolerance.  Students will refine their ability to determine which types of evidence-based treatments are appropriate given the behaviors of each child/adolescent.
