SPED 267 - Assessment, Measurement and Curriculum Development for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder Semester Hours: 3.0 This course is intended to provide students with an understanding of assessment, curriculum and measurement practices with individuals with autism. Students will explore a variety of assessment tools used to assess areas such as communication, cognitive, behavioral, social and daily living skills. Autism rating scales will be discussed and critiqued. There will be focus on intelligence testing for students with ASD as well as modifications to testing. Specific criterion referenced assessments (e.g., ABLLS, AFLS, VB-MAPP) will be discussed and students will practice completing an assessment during the course. Various measurement systems will be reviewed through out the course and students will practice selecting measurement systems and collecting and analyzing data. Students will be introduced to various curriculum options based on student assessment as well as ways to develop individualized curriculum.
