NUR 410 - Doctoral Project: Developing Area of Focus

Semester Hours: 1
This course allows the doctoral (DNP) student to integrate and synthesize information from prior course work to demonstrate synthesis of the AACN Essentials for Doctoral Education for Advanced Nursing Practice. The course will allow learners to develop an advanced nursing practice specialty area of inquiry that impacts healthcare outcomes through direct or indirect care. In consultation and mentorship with a DNP Project Faculty Advisor, students will propose a project and develop a proposal for best evidence synthesis. The goal of the course will be a proposed project based on principles of evidence-based practice that incorporates planning, implementation, evaluation, and dissemination concepts. In addition, students will initiate a systematic review proposal to illustrate the state of the science for translation into practice.
