COUN 244 - Interviewing and Therapeutic Counseling with the Aging
Once a year
Provides the skills and expertise counselors need in order to serve the elderly.
Attention is given to various interviewing and therapeutic techniques which are
specific to the elderly and incorporate client perceptions and understanding of
life events. Emphasis on the nature and art of interviewing and a range of counselor
concerns such as career counseling, retirement counseling, and counseling regarding
dying and death.
Prerequisites & Notes COUN 223 or permission of program adviser.
