SPED 205 - Language Development in Deaf and Hearing-Impaired Children and Youth Periodically
Introduction to language learning by deaf and hearing-impaired children and youth,
pre K-12. This survey course examines development of language in hearing and hearing-impaired
children/ youth. Competing interventions are compared/contrasted. Controversies,
especially “bilingual-bicultural” approaches are studied. This course is the first
of a two-course sequence.
