SPED 216 - Assessment and Diagnosis in Early Childhood Special Education

A multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis, referral, and program planning
for young children with disabilities. Students will become familiar with the foundations
of assessment in special education and the basic concepts of descriptive statistics
and measurement of behavior as well as the use of a variety of functional and
authentic performance-based assessment strategies. Multicultural concerns and
the role of parents in the assessment of young children with disabilities will
be emphasized.
