ELED 233 - Curriculum and Instruction in Creative Arts Spring, Summer
For experienced teachers, this course presents methods of integrating the creative
arts into the elementary school curriculum. Explores art forms that engage the
student on many levels as well as clarifies and enhances required academic curriculum.
Subjects covered include perceptual stages of development, creativity, multiple
intelligence theory, adaptation for included children with handicapping conditions,
interdisciplinary teaching, art history as a means to understand culture, aesthetics
and the museum as educator. Practice painting, puppetry, drama, collage, sculpture
and poetry. Museum trips and research required.
Prerequisites & Notes There is a materials fee of $10.
Credits: 3 s.h.
