ELED 261 - Student Teaching: Early Childhood Fall, Spring
Full-time student teaching in cooperating schools with direct supervision from
University supervisors. Students have two placements during the semester: one
in kindergarten and one in grades 1-2. Weekly seminars are provided. In order
to receive a passing grade, students must attend four New York State mandated
seminars: Prevention of Child Abuse and Abduction, Prevention of Substance Abuse,
Safety Education/Fire and Arson Prevention, and School Violence Prevention. Applications
obtainable at the Office of Field Placement, to be returned by October 1 for the
spring semester and by March 1 for the fall semester and interview.
Prerequisites & Notes Completion of Phase 2 course work. Must be taken concurrently with ELED 262.
Pass/Fail grade only.
Credits: 6 s.h.
