SED 209 - Professional Studies for Teachers in the Secondary Schools
Periodically
Designed to supplement the knowledge and skills preservice teachers receive in
their courses. Some of the curriculum is designed to meet the individual professional
problems of the student teacher. The remainder of the course treats contemporary
problems such as problems in teaching mainstreamed youngsters in a regular class.
Persistent problems of the profession that are learned better in the field are
included: for example, the teacher in the sociocultural environment of the school,
and the teacher and professional associations.
