SED 290 - Instructional Patterns for English Fall
Examination of Language Arts and English education including goals, state and
national standards, scope and sequence in the New York State, middle school/secondary
school curricula, teaching strategies and methods, especially promotion of student
literacy and inclusive practices, classroom environments, problems and issues,
and the assessment of teaching practice and student learning. This course should
be taken after SED 264 and must be taken prior to student teaching. It includes
30 hours participation/ observation in a secondary school classroom (grades 7-12).
