MATH 280 A-Z - Workshop: Pre-College Mathematics Semester Hours: 1-3
Once a Year
Intended for middle and secondary school teachers with a desire to strengthen their command of current and emerging mathematics curricula, for example, as put forward in the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Standards. Topics taken from probability and statistics, number theory, geometry and graph theory, discrete mathematics, problem solving, the human dimension in mathematics, mathematics through computers, mathematical systems and the mathematics of change.
Prerequisites & Course Notes Permission of department. No credit toward M.A. in Mathematics or M.S. in Applied Mathematics. As individual subjects are selected, each is assigned a letter (A-Z) and added to the course number. Any course may be taken a number of times so long as there is a different letter designation each time it is taken. This course carries no credit toward the M.A. in Mathematics.
