MFT 243 - Historical Approaches, Family Perspectives and Current Theories of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Semester Hours: 3 Fall
This course is designed to expose students to the current scope of alcohol and
other drug problems, to provide a historical perspective on substance abuse problems
and to discuss policy, funding and trends in the United States from a family systems
perspective. Socio-economic and socio-cultural theories of substance abuse and
addiction will be explored with regard to special populations and communities.
