ELED 261 - Student Teaching: Early Childhood Semester Hours: 6 Fall, Spring
Full-time student teaching in cooperating schools with direct supervision from University supervisors. Students have two placements during the semester: one in kindergarten and one in grades 1-2. Weekly seminars are provided. In order to receive a passing grade, students must attend four New York state-mandated seminars: prevention of child abuse and abduction, prevention of substance abuse, safety education/fire and arson prevention, and school violence prevention. Applications obtainable at the Office of Field Placement, to be returned by October 1 for the spring semester and by March 1 for the fall semester and interview.
Prerequisites & Course Notes Completion of Phase 2 course work. Must be taken concurrently with ELED 262. Pass/Fail grade only.
