JRNL 55 - Basic Layout and Design for JournalistsSemester Hours: 3 Fall, Spring
Introduction to the fundamentals of layout and design for individual story presentation in Web-based media as well as traditional print media. Course includes an introduction to typography, color theory, basic design principles, news design, feature design and online graphics reporting. We will also examine concepts such as visual editing for news photos and video, journalistic graphics, as they are employed in the presentation of individual stories with references to the history of visual journalism.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: JRNL 11 or permission of instructor. May not be taken on a Pass/D+/D/Fail basis. No liberal arts credit. Lab fees additional. (Formerly Editorial Presentation.)
