NC 10W to 39W - Writing PracticumSemester Hours: 0 Fall, Spring
A required course in expository writing at the college level, with an emphasis on analysis and argument. In the fall semester, students must take the writing practicum in tandem with the associated “Place and Identity” course (see NC 10 to 19 A-Z). In the spring semester, students must take the writing practicum in tandem with the associated “Ways of Knowing” course in literature (see NC 20 to 29 A-Z) or the associated “Special Topics” course in literature (see NC 30 to 39 A-Z).
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: Open only to students enrolled in New College for Interdisciplinary Studies block courses. P/F basis only. For students who change majors from New College for Interdisciplinary Studies to other units of the University and who, in the fall semester, have earned a grade of C- or better in Place and Identity (4 s.h.) and a grade of P (C- or better) in the associated writing practicum, those courses may serve as the equivalent to WSC 1. For students who change majors from New College for Interdisciplinary Studies to other units of the University and who, in the spring semester, have earned a grade of C- or better in a designated literature course (4 s.h.) and a grade of P (C- or better) in the associated writing practicum, those courses may serve as the equivalent to WSC 2. Note that block courses used to satisfy the requirements for WSC 1 and 2 may not be used to fulfill distribution requirements.
