PSY 040: Statistics Semester Hours: 4 Topics include the role of statistics in the scientific method, descriptive statistics, z scores and the standard normal distribution, sampling distributions and statistical inference, hypothesis testing, the t distribution, simple and factorial analysis of variance, correlation and regression, and nonparametric statistics. (3 hours lecture, 3 hours laboratory.)
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: PSY 001 or 001A and one of the following courses: MATH 008, 040, 045, 050, 061, 061A or 071. Credit given for this course, BIO 100, or SOC 180.
