Dance, B.A. Major in

B.A. Major in Dance: a performing art program with emphasis on the study of technique, composition, performance and production. The course of study is designed to complement the existing academic programs and to provide students with the opportunity for a concentrated experience in dance as an art form.

A personal interview with a member of the dance faculty is required prior to registration as a major.

Program Requirements - Total Semester Hours: 128 to 131


Students must participate in the MOVOM (Modern Dance Club) each semester. Assignment of students to the appropriate ballet and modern dance courses and labs will be based on prior experience, study and advancement. Students may take ballet and modern dance courses two (2) times for credit, but must complete the ballet and modern dance sequences through level IV in order to graduate.

A minimum of 128-131 s.h. depending on the number of DNCE s.h. taken in category 3 below, including:
