For the student preparing for a career in the practice of theater as a performer, director, designer or technician. The B.F.A. degree (in performance or production) is intended to provide a small, specialized group of such students with a high level of competence.

Program Requirements
Candidates for graduation with the B.F.A. degree in theater arts must fulfill
the following requirements: 1. The Successful Completion of at Least 132 Semester Hours
The successful completion of at least 132 s.h. and a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 in work completed at Hofstra. 2. Liberal Arts Requirements - Semester Hours: 62
At least 62 semester hours of the total must be in liberal arts. 3. Residence Requirements
Candidates must spend the last six semesters of fulltime study in residence at Hofstra. 4. B.F.A. Requirements
The fulfillment of the six general B.F.A. requirements. 5. Demonstration Requirements
Demonstration of proficiency satisfactory to the drama faculty as determined
by the following: annual screening of majors, a senior project and a comprehensive
examination. 6. Annual Requirements
The annual major requirements as listed below: Production Sequence - Total Semester Hours: 79
