APS 383 - Student Leadership in Higher Education Semester Hours: 3 This course examines the role and importance of student leadership in higher education. Topics include student leadership within institutions of higher education (such as student government, leadership in other student organizations, and the student role in institutional governance) and higher education student leadership in external organizations (such as student advocacy/lobbying groups, political campaigns, and leadership in social movements). The impact of higher education student leadership on organizational change will be considered. Student leadership theories will be explored, as will the educational and student development outcomes of leadership experience.
