FIN 239 - Healthcare Finance Semester Hours: 3 This is an introduction to the application of financial management within the healthcare sector. Topics include an overview of the healthcare environment with a focus on the relationship between providers and payers (insurance companies). Service line costing and pricing are discussed along with other related topics including the managed care reimbursement of health care and project risk analysis. The course builds on previous topics in finance and applies them to the healthcare sector. Specifically, the course will cover the revenue cycle, balance sheet management, financial planning & analysis, and equity financing via securities markets.
