ENGL 137 - (LT) American Literary Origins

This course explores how early American writers attempt to order and comprehend their strange, often violent world.  Writers include Captain John Smith, the bewitched of Salem, the Native American Deganawidah epic, Hector St. John de Crèvecoeur, Susanna Rowson, and ex-slave narrator Olaudah Equiano.

Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes:
WSC 001  or WSC 002 .
