This course examines the importance of food as a key to understanding the building of Italian identity throughout the country’s history, from the late middle ages to the present time. Special attention is given to the representation of food, and its shifting symbolic and cultural value, in art, literature, and cinema. This course is taught in English.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: May not be taken on a Pass/D+/D/Fail basis.
