The research and design of a substantial essay or project in the field of writing studies. Open only to senior writing studies majors who are eligible for and desire to graduate with departmental honors.

To be offered as needed for qualified students majoring in writing studies.
Learning Goals and Objectives:
Individualized course designed to advance student’s specialized study of writing studies with independent research and analysis under faculty supervision.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes Written consent by a professor to serve as instructor and approval by chair. Typically open only to seniors who are prepared for responsibilities of independent study. Student must be a WSC major with an overall GPA of 3.4 or better and a major GPA of 3.5 or better. May be taken for 3 semester hours of credit.
