Minor Requirements - Total Semester Hours: 18

A Minor in Astronomy consists of the successful completion of 18 semester hours of courses, including:

Six semester hours must be completed in residence.

a) 12 Semester Hours in Astronomy or Astrophysics

ASTR 11 - (NS) The Solar System Credits: 3 s.h.
ASTR 12 - (NS) Stars and Galaxies Credits: 3 s.h.
ASTR 31 - Frontiers of Astronomy: Black Holes, Pulsars, Supernovae and Quasars Credits: 3 s.h.
ASTR 190 - Independent Studies Credits: 3 s.h.

b) Physics Requirements

PHYS 1A - (NS) Elementary Physics Credits: 3 s.h.
and
PHYS 1B - (NS) Elementary Physics Laboratory Credits: 1 s.h.
PHYS 11A - (NS) General Physics Credits: 4 s.h.
and
PHYS 11B - (NS) General Physics Laboratory Credits: 1 s.h.
