Professor Baehr, Adviser

The minor in philosophy of law introduces students to philosophical reflection on the practices and institutions of the law. The minor offers students an opportunity to explore areas of the law that interest them, and it develops in students analytical and critical thinking skills that are broadly valuable, and especially crucial for graduate study in law. The minor consists of the successful completion of 18 semester hours of required and elective courses listed below. At least 6 semester hours must be in-residence. 15 semester hours must be for liberal arts credit. Students planning to take the LSAT are strongly advised to take PHI 150  or 154 . No more than three credits from 1-credit courses may be used to satisfy the requirements of the Philosophy of Law minor.

No more than 6 s.h. of course work taken as part of the student’s major or minor may be applied toward the Philosophy of Law minor.
