A minor in Professional Writing offers students experience in the types of writing required in the workplace. Courses focus on critical thinking, technical writing, visual rhetoric, usability, collaboration, and composing in multiple media formats. The minor complements coursework in various majors and prepares students for careers that value clear and effective written communication skills. Additionally, students with a minor in Professional Writing will be well-equipped for graduate or professional study in fields such as business, law, engineering, health, and education. This minor is not available to Writing Studies majors or students enrolled in other Writing Studies minors.
