JRNL 021 - Critical View of Broadcast MediaSemester Hours: 3 Spring
Critical survey of the electronic media. Broadcast regulations and access, politics, news and investigative reporting, advertising and audience measurement, sex and violence, television drama, children’s and public broadcasting are discussed and analyzed. Current issues, the electronic media’s approach to them, and the impact of new media on broadcasting, especially in the area of journalism, are also discussed.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: JRNL 015 or permission of instructor. Outside research is required.
